Woodbury, NY – The Long Island Association recently elected three new members to its Board of Directors, and held its annual Poolside Reception, one of the region’s premier networking events. These newly-elected Directors come from a dynamic range of industries that contribute to the economic growth and vitality of Long Island and provide valuable perspectives as the LIA continues to support the business community. Two individuals represent companies new to the LIA, and one is from a current Board company.

The newly elected members of the LIA Board of Directors include:

  • Phil Boyle, President & CEO, Suffolk Regional OTB and Jake’s 58 Casino Hotel (new company). Jake’s 58 is Long Island’s elite casino hotel, offering 1,000 video and electronic gaming machines and hotel accommodations, and is currently undergoing a $210 million expansion.
  • Naadia Burrows, Chief Diversity Officer, Broadridge Financial Solutions, Inc. (new company). Broadridge, a Long Island headquartered global FinTech company with over 14,000 associates, helps clients and the financial services industry operate, innovate, and grow.
  • Amy Ellis, Stakeholder Relations Manager – NY, Ørsted (current Board company). A global clean energy leader, Ørsted is a U.S. leader in offshore wind energy with approximately 3 gigawatts in development and operates both America’s first offshore wind farm, located off the coast of Block Island, and the country’s first utility-scale offshore wind farm, South Fork Wind, and is currently constructing New York’s largest offshore wind project, Sunrise Wind.

Following the Board meeting, the LIA hosted its highly successful Poolside Reception, held annually at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury. More than 700 attendees from various industry sectors across Long Island came together to connect and build relationships to assist with their professional growth. This event, known for its vibrant atmosphere and unmatched networking opportunities, continues to be one of the LIA’s most popular gatherings that is complimentary for LIA members and their guests.

“We are excited to welcome these remarkable leaders to the LIA Board. Their expertise and insight will enhance our efforts to advocate for Long Island’s economic development and create new opportunities for our members. “These new Board members bring an incredible wealth of experience and a fresh perspective on our region’s economy, which will be integral as the LIA continues to shape the future of Long Island’s business landscape. We are also pleased to offer unparalleled regional networking opportunities for business, community, and government leaders at our annual Poolside Reception,” said Matt Cohen, President & CEO of the Long Island Association.

“I am honored to join the LIA Board of Directors on behalf of Broadridge. We’re a $6 billion global financial technology company that proudly built one of our largest business segments in offices in Suffolk and Nassau counties. We are committed to working together with the LIA and business leaders to drive continued growth and innovation on Long Island and in New York,” said Naadia Burrows, Chief Diversity Officer, Broadridge.
