National Manufacturing Month | October 2026
As America celebrates National Manufacturing Month, advanced manufacturing is creating career opportunities for individuals with discipline, precision, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. For athletes, these strengths can translate into high-paying technical careers.
Semiconductor technicians operate and maintain sophisticated equipment producing the computer chips powering artificial intelligence, vehicles, healthcare, and modern infrastructure. Entry-level salaries can start around $45,000, while experienced technicians may earn $110,000 or more.
Career pathways include technical certifications, apprenticeships, robotics, electronics, and specialized workforce training.
Beyond employment, semiconductor manufacturing supports local economies through construction, equipment suppliers, logistics, and business development.
Sports Power Infrastructure™, in collaboration with the Institute for Workforce Advancement (IWA) and industry partners, connects athletic talent and communities with workforce and supplier opportunities.
During National Manufacturing Month, Sports Power Infrastructure will host the Sports Power Energy + Manufacturing Social on October 28, 2026, from 5 PM to 7 PM at Rab's Country Lanes in Staten Island, NY.
The event will connect employers, suppliers, educators, and professionals while highlighting findings from New York's Energy + Manufacturing Workforce and Supplier Survey.
America's manufacturing future needs talent. Athletes already possess many skills to help power it.
