Pacific Offshore Wind Summit | May 13 -15 (Sacramento, CA)

May 13 – 15, 2024
SAFE Credit Union Convention Center
Sacramento, California

Floating offshore wind has made remarkable progress in coming to the U.S. West Coast. California has shown that it’s serious about going big on offshore wind and positioning itself as a global leader and hub for this important renewable energy resource. The Golden State is moving forward with both speed and scale to responsibly develop floating offshore wind as a vital part of the state’s clean energy future.

This past year, we held our Third Annual Pacific Offshore Wind Summit in Sacramento on May 8-10, 2023. That event brought together more than 700 state and federal officials, industry leaders, and other stakeholders, and helped mobilize support and build momentum for California to meet its ambitious planning goals to generate up to 5 gigawatts (GW) from offshore wind by 2030 and a nation-leading 25 GW by 2045.

It also set the stage for passage by California’s Legislature in September 2023 of the ground-breaking legislation to establish a robust mechanism to facilitate procurement and ensure a clear path to market for large-scale clean energies like offshore wind. AB 1373, with strong support from the Governor, provides a vital tool to help California invest at scale, build at scale, and procure at scale for the long lead-time renewable resources the state needs to complement its clean-power portfolio and meet its climate, clean-energy, and grid-reliability goals.

We’re returning to Sacramento for our 2024 Pacific Offshore Wind Summit, May 13-15. Our focus will be advancing the next set of critical steps to bring California offshore wind online, which are spelled in the California Energy Commission’s Draft AB 525 strategic plan for offshore wind. These key steps include investing in port upgrades and transmission, setting a clear permitting roadmap, engaging with stakeholders to protect our cultural and marine resources, establishing a robust supply chain and workforce training, and identifying suitable sea space to reach the state’s 25 GW goal. We’ll examine how California can become a global center for floating wind development, jobs, and expertise – in the Pacific Rim and beyond.

We’re excited to have you join us May 13-15, 2024 at the SAFE Credit Union Convention Center, where you’ll be able to meet industry leaders, developers, policymakers, government representatives, and consultants, and hear about the latest updates on siting, permitting, ports, procurement, transmission, and environmental issues facing the California offshore wind industry. We’ll examine how California can become a global center for floating wind development, jobs, and expertise — in the Pacific Rim and beyond.
