Shinnecock Nation celebrated the groundbreaking of a new gas station and travel plaza in Hampton Bays. Located on tribal land, the plaza will occupy approximately 10 acres just north of the westbound lanes of Sunrise Highway, near the 60-foot tall electronic monuments the Nation erected in 2019.

This gas station project is a significant step in the Nation’s ongoing efforts to provide essential municipal services comparable to those in other communities. Notably, the project is entirely funded and managed by the Shinnecock Nation, without any external partners or investors.
