Local Content Announces Sports + Entertainment Week: Bridging Business, Government Funding, and Local Content Requirements

Compliance technology and deployment company Local Content is thrilled to announce the launch of Sports + Entertainment Week, a pivotal event series to explore the intricate relationship between the business of sports and entertainment and the vital role of local content and domestic requirements within the industry. Local Content and Domestic Content require that a percentage (often 20% – 40%) of goods, services, workforce, and community benefit investments for stadiums, arenas, casinos, and hospitality projects are sourced from local and/or domestic small businesses and taxpayers. By doing so, these projects are awarded operational licenses, contracts, public funding, and/or tax incentives from various levels of government. Scheduled for July 11 – 19, 2025 to take place in several locations, this week-long event series is curated for investors, project owners, taxpayers, industry leaders, nonprofits, and fans alike.

“The importance of taxpayers understanding how to engage with sports and entertainment-related development projects creates is that these industries, when properly educated, are more than just excitement and leisure. They are vital sources of small business contracts, job creation, and community development. Investors and industry-government partners will gain the most by recognizing and leveraging these benefits. Our event aims to bridge this knowledge gap, showcasing how strategic engagement can drive significant economic and community growth.” says Tenicka Chaney, Director of Sports, Entertainment, and Leisure at Local Content.
