This innovative solution was announced on National Manufacturing Day, October 4; a series of solution launch events will include partnerships with nonprofit trade association the New Jersey Manufacturing Extension Program (NJMEP) at the New Jersey Devils home at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ and TBA co-hosting Sports Power Manufacturing Combines in Queens and Brooklyn NYC advancing career and small business contract opportunities in manufacturing.
U.S. manufacturers face significant challenges, including supply chain disruptions, labor shortages, and global competition, which increase costs and pressure for innovation. The demand for sustainability and rising energy costs also impact their operations. However, there are strong opportunities for job seekers and small businesses in manufacturing sectors like photonics. semiconductors, composites, advanced manufacturing, and even offshore wind are driven by the need for energy-efficient solutions and national security. Small businesses, which make up 98% of U.S. manufacturers, can’t meet new growth opportunities or accept federal/state funding without a growing workforce and small businesses to subcontract for local content compliance.
